The Walter Dean Myers Panel on Multicultural Literature for Children

Participation in The Walter Dean Myers Authors Panel with Dr. Rudine Bishop, Ms. Cheryl Willis Hudson, Mr. Raul Colon and Mr. Wade Hudson was an exhilarating experience. It is exciting to see that Galimoto will be on library shelves in Malawi.  I lived in Malawi as a Peace Corps volunteer and I wrote that book about a child in Malawi over 30 years ago.  I know how important it is for children to see themselves in books and I hope this story will resonate with kids who can now find it in their own library. After All these Years: Galimoto

After 30plus years this little book is going strong. And wire sculptures still catch my eye.  I bump into these sculptures everywhere. Reminding me that wire sculptures are works of art. And too, bits of wire still catch my eye wherever I am.
